i think my playstation is done for. lately its been really slow and today when i tryed to play i got on socom and i got in east9 but everytime i tryed to get in a room, i would click on it and then the screen would go black and start the playstion all over again sending me back to the beginning where it shows the disc and the memory card. it did this like 5 times then i finnallly got on and i played one map, but the load times were maaad slow in between rounds. like when the 10 second count down begins for everybody else my screen would just go black for 10 seconds and then start the next round. so i dont even get to see the round results. i think my playstation is getting to old to handle the speed that is needed for online.
i dont know man, its not lookin good.
maybe i can sell my ps2, how much can u get for a used ps2. i think its just fucked up when it trys to get online but i havent really tryed, im bout to go see if i can get back online again and if not i'll see if it fucks up playing regular games. hmmm.........or maybe its just socom, i'll try madden online too, i have some testing to do.

I think you should definitley crack that bitch open and clean it with compressed air, maybe its getting too hot. Dust will do that, it raises the ambient temperature of the components and they will automatically reboot when the hot to let them cool. And buy a laser eye cleaner from a variety store , they go for about 2 dollars.. Should help..

yea i tryed that disc cleaner for the laser, didnt help much. i ended up gettin back on socom, but when i spawned i spawned anywhere from 5 to 20 seconds after everybody else. i had to play frostfire terrs, and u can just imagine what that was like starting late. (BOOM) and it was like that for every map, but then i was host just now, and instead of me starting late, it just took maad long for it to begin the countdown for everybody, so it was like everybody had to wait for my shit to catch up cuz i was host.
im gonna try and restart my whole online settings tomorrow if i can find the disc. and restart my modem, cuz the loading time works just fine when i play single player its only when i go online. its something with the connection, unless being old the playstation just cant take it any more.

As long as you cleaned all the dust from it. But the delay your talking about P had the same thing happen to him. Ask him how he fixed his.. Oh, get a qtip (dont wet it) and clean the network card connectors on the adapter, dont put too much pressure as u dont wanna bend the pins to hard, but u wanna make sure they are dust free and shiny..

snipe he cant get a slim one, cuz he has the HDD. plus from what i have been hearing, the new one's are having trouble logging online.
yung if you want bring your ps2 by my crip. i'll take it apart and clean it. did that on my other ps2 before.

I got the new slim one and have no trouble logging online.Except I get booted alot but its only with Socom.No trouble out of NCAA Football online.I would get the HDD and start playing the new maps.But Socom3 is right around the corner.  |

Dog, I had the same problem a long while ago. You'll probably don't remember that, but I had to buy a new one, because the one I had wasn't playing the blue discs properly, was booting me and was just malfunctioning all together. I brought a new one and squashed all that. I don't have the HDD, because I'm with you on that one Snipe, SOCOM 3 is right around the corner.lol, and besides. There are way too many more people to own in the regular maps anyway ;D
Hey Snipe, everytime I look at your tag it reminds me or should I say that it looks like an evil triple H off of Blade 3,lol.
