theyd be better off without payton anyway. as much as i respect him he doesnt fit into the offense at all. shaq is still under contract for another year or so, kobe will be back next season, but phil jackson will probably be gone along with most of the people on their roster. the only thing is ill STILL be a laker fan. no jockridin here. still the two best players in the league, and kobe is still the air-apparant. fuck t-mac, fuck lebron, fuck everybody.
p.s. kobes accuser is gonna die of some nasty std.

First of all i'm not hatin on the Lakers...If you remember correctly I said (before game 1) this was gonna be a better series than most people anticipated...I didn't say who would win or lose...If anyone is hatin on anyone its you hatin on the Pistons...They are up 3 games to 1 and you've yet to give them the CREDIT they DESERVE (and EARNED)...I tried to WARN you that the PISTONS were LEGIT...Two players don't make a TEAM Ars no matter how good they are...The PISTONS DEFENSE is exposing that...May the BEST TEAM win...Aiighht...

maybe phil jackson's not as good as people think he is. everybody anticipated the lakers going like 75-7 with all the players they had but he cant get them to play together. phil is OVERRATED. 4 hall of famers and cant win the chapionship lol.

4 hall of famers with problems: kobe was falsly accused, malone has bad legs, payton cant play the laker style offense (triangle) and shaq is startin to get old. i dont hate on the pistons. i support my team. what am i supposed to do, start sayin "nice job pistons, finish off the lakers now so we will all be happy", FUCK NO, i dont care if the lakers lose but you best believe that i wont like the pistons regardless of the outcome. when the lakers lost to the spurs i didnt like them, but i did and still acknowledge that they are a better team than LA. now that the lakers beat them youve heard me say "the better team in the west is gone." which indicates that i might not like them, but i do respect them. the pistons are gettin way too much credit for the lakers crappy play. people forget the slumps that the lakers had this season and now taht its happening again everyone wants to say "the pistons are beatin them with defense." fuck all that, the pistons are beatin a good team playin like shit.

The pistons have the best defense in the NBA...this year statisticly...that's a proven fact...Ars...you haven't given their defense credit from the git....The Lakers may be playin like shit...but one of the main reasons for them playing like shit..is the PISTONS DEFENSE...!!!!!! Not saying that ESPN is always right...but they broke it down this morning..and some of what they said was that the pistons defensive game plan has worked to a tee....Run around...and set picks on offense...and keep running around like mad men...and by the forth quarter (wich usually is the Lakers best quarter)...the Lakers big men...and older players will be tired...As far as Kobe playing like shit..because he was accused of rape..and has that lawsuit against him...I think your not giving him enough credit as a strong minded player...Kobe has exhibited that mental tuffness that some of the great players of all time have...Like Jordan...like Farve(I know it's a different sport)...but I think you understand where I'm coming from....Look at that I don't even like Kobe and I said those nice things about him..! Man...I feel all kinds of dirty right now...!!!!

i never said kobe was playin like shit cuz of his legal issues. i watch every laker game on tv, i know better than anyone else here that he is playin career games on court dates. when yung said:

if all it took to beat the lakers was a pick and roll and man to man defense without double teaming shaq often, why has it taken so long for everyone to figure it out? the other coaches in the league arent idiots, its common knowledge that the lakers are weak against the pick and roll, and if you guard players man to man theyre gonna have a hard time gettin shots, but its not somethin the lakers cant fix with better play and more hustle like theyve done numerous times during the season.
look at the spurs series, the pick and roll was a big part of the spurs offense, and we all know what bowen, ginobli, parker, and duncan were supposed to do right (defense?!)? all of these players are faster than the laker players (with exception of kobe). and if you dont believe me, im sure i can find you videos to prove my point.
i know you guys arent gonna tell me that the beloved t-wolves are a bad team also? the lakers played sub-par ball against them and beat them, so is it so difficult to believe that the lakers arent playin very well now (rather than attribute everything to pistons defense)?
should the pistons win the championship this year, which im sure all of you will argue that they will, do you seriously think they will win it again next season? is their defense so spectacular that there arent any other teams in the league that could beat them because of somethin as simple as a pick and roll? thats a joke. defense or not, there are a handfull of better teams in the league. the t-wolves would beat them, the spurs would beat them, the kings would beat them, i would even put my money on a team like the grizzlies to beat them. dont watch 3 games in the season and 5 in the post season and try to tell me about defense.

WOW @ Arsenal's LAST POST...The last couple of sentences in your LAST POST lead me to believe your KNOWLEDGE of the game of BASKETBALL is CLOUDY at best...For you to say that those handful of teams are better (especially the Grizzlies) than the WORLD CHAMPION PISTONS is ABSOLUTELY FUCKIN ABSURD...  ...The PISTONS MANHANDLED (yes-MANHANDLED) the LAKERS and the LAKERS are BETTER than ALL the teams you listed...I'm CONFUSED  ...Something is not adding up...If I watched 0 GAMES ALL season it WAS that OBVIOUS they WON the CHAMPIONSHIP because of their DEFENSIVE mindset...And their DEFENSE was so GOOD it made their OFFENSE that much more effective...They OUTPLAYED (and OUTCOACHED) the LAKERS in every FACET of the GAME...HANDS DOWN...And i'm saying this as a BASKETBALL FAN (i'm not a Piston fan)...One LAST thing,my KNOWLEDGE of the game of BASKETBALL is more BROAD than you probably think...Aiighht... |

i guess you never saw the grizzlies play the pistons then...
the lakers were not better than all of those teams this season, especially the spurs, but they did get by them. did you watch the first quarter of the game yesterday? the lakers were doin exactly what the pistons were doin in terms of "defense" and they were makin open shots, then they basically went to sleep and lost. i could argue this all day so rather than waste my time, you guys can be happy now that your pistons have won.
just out of curiousity, who is the best TEAM in the league in your opinions (yung, trigga, jester, and whoever else wants to enlighten me)? i'll be the first to tell you that its not the lakers, and it never was.

To answer your question Arsenal..NO I didn't see the Pistons play Memphis this year,but I did some research (yup you made me do research) they played 2 times and the PISTONS won each time...Nov.19 @ Memphis- Detroit 99 Memphis 92,And Jan. 31 @ Detroit- Detroit 80 Memphis 78...Need I say more...So throw your Grizzlies statement out the window...The Lakers were the BEST TEAM in the West (this year)...This is gonna sound funny at first but BASKETBALL is not FOOTBALL,in B-BALL its a best out of 7 series(football is a 1 and done deal) so 99% of the time the BEST TEAM wins the series...And if I remember correctly the LAKERS beat both the T-Wolves and the Spurs...Explain that...As far as the BEST TEAM thing,its OBVIOUS who that team is THIS YEAR...Isn't it? ?? ?...Arsenal if I was really a LAKER HATER (as you say) would I be saying that they were the BEST in the WEST? ?? ?...Hmmmmmmm...Aiighht...

LOL by 7 and by 2, not very convincing is it? two close games, or is 7 a blow out? i guess the grizzlies never had a chance against the uncanny defense of the pistons.
the t-wolves were the best team in the west this year. the spurs were second, and the lakers were maybe 3rd. the lakers beat the spurs with luck, or maybe they planned on waitin till .6 seconds were on the clock so they could win it? the spurs shouldve won, but didnt. the t-wolves couldve, shouldve, and wouldve, and happened to get beat at home. the momentum was gone from that point on.
as much as i hate to listen to the crap that they spew on tv, ask anyone who they thought the best team this season was and they wouldve told you it was the t-wolves. with lack of experience they lost. theres no way that you can tell me that with the lakers playin so inconsistantly all season that they were the best team. on paper maybe, but realistically?
im a spurs hater, but i still think they were better than the lakers, whats your point? just because i like the lakers, it doesnt mean its not truth.
