I tried to find more solid info on it, but absolutely nothing. I got the new EGM in the mail today and under The Rumor Mill this is what it says, word for word: This coming after all the rumors and the alledged website with the actor leaking the info on his site. That site claimed there would be a new SOCOM in May, so I guess even though it was fake, it wasn't too far off. Keep in mind that Modern Combat ( www.eagames.com/official/battlefield/moderncombat/us/home.jsp) drops this fall also, so there will be competition around the same time. Makes it seem even more legit... |

It doesnt make a lot of sence though.They was talking all this shit about the map downloads but only came out with three maps?Why create a whole new game in less then a year?Most games that have a sequal or whatnot wait two years or so.Maybe they are coming out with one though.Make me get more interested into it again.

theyve been droppin them once every year to year and a half. 3 maps aint enough to keep people around, so they need to do somethin before they lose them to other games. people have been sayin "why not wait till ps3?" thats almost 2 years away!!! (4th quarter 2006). by that time xbox 2 will have already dropped, along with a shit load of online shooters for all the platforms, so theyre better off makin somethin now and then releasin somethin a lil bit after ps3. i wouldnt be suprisded if they tried to make the hdd more useful with the next one though. we'll see.

The only thing that will backfire on them is if they make it for hdd. All the new consoles bought can't have an hdd attached to it, unless they come up with a new one compatible to the new systems. Damn you Zipper, didn't you think that the market would catch fire with new and improved games? Damn you fucking procrastinators,lol.

theyd be stupid not to utilize the hdd more, cuz socom players bought it with the intent to play more than 3 maps. if they go and make another one and dont do somethin with it, theyve wasted all our time and money for nothin. if anything they should release more maps for the next one through some other kind of medium (like download maps from a special server or something) or re-release the maps from s1 the way they were back then (abandoned, rats nest) and revamp some of them (add different weather and shit like that, like they claimed they would do for s2). just like s2 im sure theyll just release the new one with more maps, probably add the newest 3 to those also, but they better consider doin somethin else with the hdd, whether its more maps, new weapons, new costumes, custom maps, etc, cuz no one bought the hdd to play ffxi and 3 maps.

Well I bought it and I like the new maps. Problem is I wish more peeps had it so we didnt have to make separate rooms or not play the new maps to play wit the peeps who dont have them.

they should of had the maps downloadable via servers. instead of this bullshit of searching and paying $10 a map. that's where xbox has the edge on online content.

yea they should make it like the xbox and have the downloads online.only if it had the built in hard drive they couldve.oh well. nextgen (aka xbox2) will probally be out about a year before they release the ps3.Which of course the xbox will have more sells.will this make you guys go buy the xbox2 since it is coming out earlier or will you wait for the ps3? Ill probally buy both.  |

i think since everyone is so anti ps2, you guys should sell your playstations and stick to xbox. you might find that the games are better...
