Found this on the Beta Boards.Dunno if any of you have seen it but here ya go.Enjoy
"They took aspects of Flash and incorporated it into their programming. Like glitching, for example, we found out that they will stop people from being outside of the walls and how they will force you back in. There is a safety called "the proximity detector" which is exactly what it sounds like. It puts out an area in which you can be in. If it finds that you are outside of your boundary, it forces you back in to the map. So even though you get into a glitch, you will be forced back out to the playable map. Their servers that they will be running may have a second code that is not ran on your disk. You may crack what's on your PS2 disc but if these codes are overwritten when you get online then you have NO CODES FOR SOCOM 2 !!! Sony is smart. This is very much like how Microsoft does their automatic updates. It scans and reads what you have and updates from there. So from what I have heard, we may not see much hacking involved with Socom 2 online. Zipper and Sony have something up their sleeves for us."
If you think about it, that isn't much different from what I said thay could do to prevent cheaters with the memory cards in my previous post:
"Ok scratch that previous idea. You all are saying that it gets saved to the memory cards right? Well how about this: SOCOM 2 comes out with a READ-ONLY memory card that you must have in slot 1 or 2 that has your online information that you need to log on. Since people are saving their GS/CB codes to their PS2 card and putting that in another slot, when you'd log on, the SOCOM 2 card compares it's data to the stuff in the PS2 card as your logging in to see if they match, if they don't then it doesn't let you log on! THERE PROBLEM SOLVED, and since the card would be read-only THEY CANNOT HACK IT OR ALTER IT. "
SCORE ONE FOR SONY, ZIPPER AND THE NON-CHEATERS!!!!
Also this was another interesting quote from Gamehax.com: "Was told today that the new servers will be the new Amd Opteron servers. They are the sledgehammer models. I know that there will not be lag,or hardly any of it. The Opterons have a front bus speed of 1400 mhz. It will be about 3 times faster than the servers they have now."
This keeps getting better and better! No cheats and no lag!!! WOOHOO!!
Oh yeah, yet another quote from gamehax.com under the same topic: "prepare to be BANNED!!!"
I'm finding it very interesting for a badassed hacker site full of hackers, the fact that they seem to be giving up hope on hacking SOCOM 2! Muhahaha, OMG, someone said that they were gonna "try to hack the servers" isn't that like a serious offense? And to think ITS JUST A GAME, they are willing to risk a very serious lawsuit against themselves just to cheat!
Ahhh the taste of victory....
... don't get me wrong there are like three or four people **bleep**ing about Sony winning the cheater battle... and how they are still gonna try to hack it... but the fact that even the MODS are saying that it's a hopeless uphill battle is quite amusing!!!
