i saw it in person today theres a usb port so you can transfer movies onto the system without an actual disk....I WATCHED KILL BILL i got to try Ridge Racer he showed me pictures of the other games, GT4, Darkstalkers, MGS you should have seen me standin there in the store... i looked like an excited little girl with hard nipples LOL i couldnt stop smiling when i left the store. the shit is tiny as hell but its retail is gonna be 189.99 according to the guy there so i just bought the whole thing today. he said theyll call me on the second week of March when it comes in dont sleep ive known the guy for a few years now, he said he got it as a store promotion for the employees and he told me about all the battery issues and everything, and he said from experience its not as bad as they are makin it out to be. you can download music, movies, and pictures from youre computer and watch them on the handset. it comes with a memory card but he said youre better off buying a better one to go with it. SERIOUSLY, DONT SLEEP!!!!!! it FAR surpased what i was expecting in terms of graphics and ability. all those videos i posted dont do it justice did i mention DONT SLEEP!!!!!!


EDIT: i forgot to mention its not regional exclusive, so if you buy a psp game from japan, it will work on the psp you have, and vice versa american games to japanese psp's. the graphics.....seriously, AMAZING!!!!!

EDIT AGAIN: i also just read that Rockstar is making a GTA for the psp!!!!

EDIT ONE MORE TIME: i watched a few seconds of FFVII Advent Children too!!!

Rockstar Announces PSP Launch Titles
Grand Theft Auto and Midnight Club to go.

Rockstar Games today announced two of its most successful game franchises will be available on PSP near the time of its upcoming North American launch. Rockstar Leeds is developing Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition and a brand new Grand Theft Auto with the support of Rockstar San Diego and Rockstar North, respectively.

While specific details of neither title have been reveled, Gordon Hall, President of Rockstar Leeds said, "We understand that gamers' expectations will be very high for new PSP handheld system titles and we are confident that we can deliver exhilarating experiences that will set the standard for what a PSP game can be with Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition and our new Grand Theft Auto title." President of Rockstar Games Sam Houser likes what he's seen so far. "Sony's extremely impressive technology has allowed Rockstar Leeds to do more on a handheld machine than we could have ever imagined," he said.

Sony to Release PlayStation Portable

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Sony Corp. said Thursday it will release the PlayStation Portable in North America on March 24 and have 1 million units ready for sale in the first week.

The PSP machine, a challenger to Nintendo Co.'s long-standing grip on the handheld video gaming market, will be sold as a "value pack" for $250 in the United States and for $300 Canadian dollars. It will include numerous accessories and _ for the first million sold _ a copy of the "Spider-Man 2" movie on the new Universal Media Disc format that Sony designed for the PSP.

Sony said it has already shipped 800,000 PSPs in Japan, where it went on sale on Dec. 12 for about $190.

By comparison, Nintendo's newest product, the Nintendo DS sells for $150. It was among the must-have Christmas gadgets, with more than 2.8 million sold worldwide since its release in late November.

The PSP is designed, however, with more multimedia features. It can play digital music, movies and display photos on its 4.3-inch color screen, using Sony's proprietary 1.8-gigabyte UMD discs or a Memory Stick.

With the PSP, the Tokyo-based electronics giant is targeting a wider consumer base and not just young gamers.

"It has gaming at its core, but it's not a gaming device. It's an entertainment device," Kaz Hirai, the president of Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. said in an interview.

In addition to working with its own Sony Pictures film division, Sony is in discussions with other movie studios to support the new UMD format for future releases of movies, Hirai said.

Sony said 24 game titles will be available around the time of the launch with prices starting at $40 each.

According to market research firm DFC Intelligence, the DS and PSP are expected to drive the global portable games market from $3.9 billion in 2003 to $11.1 billion in 2007. The overall global video game industry saw sales of about $23 billion in 2003.

Hard-core gamers will propel the initial sales of the PSP, analysts say. Its unique combination of gaming and multimedia features in a 7-inch by 3-inch device that also has Wi-Fi wireless connectivity, could spur a new market for Sony, however.

"When it comes to entertainment, Sony has advantages over other players in the market," said P.J. McNealy, analyst at American Technology Research. "But success drives imitation, and if this thing is a wildly successful platform, you'll see knockoffs by the holidays in 2006."

yup, theyre sayin ac!d is gonna be kinda weird cuz of the story and the card play controls (its kinda like an rpg and action game in one) but it looks good nonetheless. right now at launch im goin for ridge racer, spider-man 2 (they said its the same controls as the ps2 version, but different story) nba street remix, tiger woods pga tour, ac!d of course, and coded arms (they said this is the best lookin game on the psp, so i have to play this).

I feel that is too much money man.I think Ill wait untill the price drops or get a used one after about 2-weeks of release.
Ill go to EB in the mall and a game that has been out for only a week is sitting in the used section.Im like how in the hell can you buy a game then take it back in a week.If it sucked yea.But the good games are sitting there.Ill buy it used anyday of the week.

man snipe, you'll be waiting for the price to go down, like your waiting for it to drop on the HDD(you said it not me). you can buy a used HDD from EB for $56, just found that out yesterday.
